Clockify Hours per Project in Excel, with the Gaps Flagged
Proposal: this report does not exist yet.
We are checking whether people want it before we build it. Nothing is sold or charged on this page.
Once a month, someone exports the hours from Clockify, pastes them into a workbook and hopes nothing is missing. This report would do that run for you on your own computer: read every time entry of the month through the Clockify API, write the hours per project to Excel, and list everything that does not add up instead of hiding it in the totals.
What it would do
- Read the users, projects and time entries of one month from your Clockify workspace, page by page, following the
Last-Pageheader that the Clockify API documentation describes. If a page does not say whether it is the last one, it stops and writes nothing. - Write an Excel workbook with the hours per project, per user and in total.
- Write the exceptions on their own sheet, so a total that looks right is not trusted until the list is empty or explained.
- End with an exit code a scheduled task can act on: report written and clean, report written with exceptions, or nothing written.
Scope
- One Clockify workspace and one monthly report by project.
- Runs on your side: Windows with PowerShell 7. No hosting, no account with us, no access to your systems.
- Your credentials stay on your computer. The Clockify API key is read from your environment; we never see it or your data.
- Not payroll, invoicing or accounting, and no other time trackers or APIs.
- Clockify's limits apply. Clockify's help says a free workspace can make only 30 API requests per hour (Clockify Help). The report would count its requests and stop cleanly at a limit; it does not work around it.
Proposed workbook
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Month | The month of the report, for example 2026-09 |
| Project | Project name, or “(no project)” |
| Client | Client of the project, if it has one |
| User | Who logged the time |
| Entries | Number of time entries counted |
| Hours | Hours from the start and end of each counted entry, two decimals |
| Exception | What it means | What the report does |
|---|---|---|
Page without Last-Page | The API did not say whether more data follows | Stops; no workbook is written |
| Entry on two pages | Entries changed while the month was being read | Lists it once; asks you to run again |
| Timer still running | An entry with a start and no end | Not counted; listed |
| No project | Time logged without a project | Counted under “(no project)”; listed |
| Unknown project | The entry points to a project that is not in the project list | Counted under the project ID; listed |
| Crosses the month end | An entry that ends in the next month | Listed, so you decide where it belongs |
| End before start | An entry whose interval is not valid | Not counted; listed |
The guide to Clockify API pagination shows the core of this with code you can run today: reading every page, catching duplicates and running timers, and writing the hours to an Excel workbook.
Test price
If it gets built: €79, one-off, VAT included. This is the price we are testing, not a price you can pay today. Nothing is charged now and no payment details are asked for.
Reserve it by email
If you would use this every month, send an email with the subject “Reserve: Clockify report” and tell us, in a few lines:
- how you get the monthly hours out of Clockify today;
- what goes wrong: entries missing, totals that do not match, something else;
- whether the scope above (one workspace, runs on your Windows PC, your key stays with you) works for you;
- whether you would pay €79 for it within 30 days of it being released.
A reservation is not a payment and commits you to nothing. Please do not send API keys, exports or client data. We use your email only to reply and, since you asked, to tell you once whether the report gets built (privacy).
