Clockify Hours per Project in Excel, with the Gaps Flagged

Proposal: this report does not exist yet.

We are checking whether people want it before we build it. Nothing is sold or charged on this page.

Once a month, someone exports the hours from Clockify, pastes them into a workbook and hopes nothing is missing. This report would do that run for you on your own computer: read every time entry of the month through the Clockify API, write the hours per project to Excel, and list everything that does not add up instead of hiding it in the totals.

What it would do

  1. Read the users, projects and time entries of one month from your Clockify workspace, page by page, following the Last-Page header that the Clockify API documentation describes. If a page does not say whether it is the last one, it stops and writes nothing.
  2. Write an Excel workbook with the hours per project, per user and in total.
  3. Write the exceptions on their own sheet, so a total that looks right is not trusted until the list is empty or explained.
  4. End with an exit code a scheduled task can act on: report written and clean, report written with exceptions, or nothing written.

The guide to Clockify API pagination shows the core of this with code you can run today: reading every page, catching duplicates and running timers, and writing the hours to an Excel workbook.
